Discovery of Kyoto in the afternoon Visiting Idea: Kiyomizudera Temple, founded at the end of the 8th century, Kiyomizudera Temple is located at the foot of the Higashiyama hill. The main building, classified as National Treasure, was rebuilt in 1633 by the Tokugawa shogunate. Its wooden terrace, supported by 139 giant piles 15 meters high, overlooks a ravine and offers a wonderful panorama of the city Free dinner and overnight in Kyoto.

The Fushimi-Inari Sanctuary Founded in the 8th century, the sanctuary stands out from the rest of the sites by the omnipresence of the statues of foxes and by its immense network of galleries formed by torii (gates) painted in vermillion, the forest. There are nearly 3,000! The temple Sanjusangendo a Buddhist temple founded in 1132. and rebuilt between 1251 and 1256. This temple contains 1,001 wooden statues representing Buddhist deities carved by Tankei, Kōzyō and Unkei. The castle of Nijo Built in 1603 to be the residence of the first shogun TOKUGAWA leyasu (1543-1616), this complex consists of several buildings, fortifications and beautiful gardens. Visit this small town on foot mountain and / or jinrikisha, the traditional rickshaws . Opportunity to observe the surrounding nature and perform a walk in a bamboo forest .
Optional: Cruise on the Hozugawa River on a traditional boat that can carry around 20 people, passing through impressive gorges and rapids (subject to change depending on weather conditions).

Day trip to Nikko, two hours by train from Tokyo, is both a wonder of natural beauty and the site of the must-see architectural masterpieces of Japan. It has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1999. The sanctuary of Toshogu, completed in 1636 and dedicated to the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, is the focal point of the city. Most sanctuary buildings as well as many elements have been classified National Treasures or Important Cultural Heritage. The Shinkyo Bridge or “Sacred Bridge” rises gracefully over the Daiya River. Lake Chuzenji shines particularly early in May, with the colourful blossoming of cherry blossoms and in October, when the leaves adorn their autumnal ornament. A 5-minute walk from the Chuzenji Onsen bus stop is the Kogen waterfall, one of the most famous in Japan. You can get to the waterfall with a lift. Another 15-minute walk will take you to the Temple of Chuzenji which houses the famous statue of the Goddess at the Thousand Arms.
